A proud past, with an exciting future...
Our custom made windows are manufactured right here at Northome Comfort Windows Inc. in Foam Lake, Saskatchewan and installed by our experienced team. Since 1990 we have used the Acrylon’s Western Profiles exclusive high-end extrusion, except it is now redesigned with some minor nice improvements. We also continue to use the same high quality "Santoprene" weather-stripping to combat our extreme weather conditions, providing longevity, serviceability, higher performance, comfort and saving you energy dollars.
Owners, Nelson and Cheryl Coupland have diverse backgrounds in business management. Nelson Coupland has training in industrial design, has worked in manufacturing, retail sales and has been one of the top people in a specialty window replacement company since 1978. Cheryl (Code) Coupland has formal training in engineering, management, has been an executive director of tourism, and spent years in finance until she joined Nelson in the window business in 1988.
Nelson and Cheryl created their custom window business in 1990 at their acreage located north of Foam Lake. At that time, the office was located in a small room in their home and the workshop was a tarp that was attached to the house. To install windows, Nelson and Cheryl along with their number one installer, Dennis West, borrowing his tuck, did all the installations. Back then, Nelson and Cheryl handled all other aspects of the business themselves, from sales, marketing, transporting, and office management.
From those early days to today there have been many changes. In February 2011, Northome Comfort Windows relocated to a new location at 424 Main Street within the town of Foam Lake. It is staffed with 27 great employees, including window installers, window fabricators, office staff, and sales agents. Plus the Northome Comfort Windows, Regina Franchise team.
The Northome Comfort Windows building in downtown Foam Lake contains the main office, window fabrication facility, installation office and distribution center. This facility is where all Northome Comfort Windows are manufactured today. This building contains all the supplies and equipment required for the window fabrication and installation of the Northome window product.
Northome Comfort Windows has four mobile workshop trailers rigged for installing the Northome window product. The trailers are loaded daily with materials required for each individual customer’s specific window installation project, such as lumber, special vinyl extrusions, and coloured vinyl coated wood-grain embossed Solmica capping. Many days two jobsites are being installed in the same day.
